The Long Journey from Caterpillar to ButterflyLife Cycle of a Butterfly
Under the leadership of our Woddler 2 class teacher, Ms. Justine, the children at C2S got to experience one of the great marvels of nature first hand as they monitored the progress of the classroom butterfly garden. When first introduced to the children, the self contained unit held actual caterpillars. They were tiny at first and grew to be big and fat. Next, came the egg, larva, and pupa stages, all happening under the watchful eyes of the children. Finally, the pupa, or chrysalis, opened and out came beautiful butterflies. On Friday, May 2nd, the children will go outside and set the butterflies free!
